Oil extraction is one of Fisher's Life major systems, facilitating the refueling of gas stations among other uses. However, this work requires specific equipment for drilling, which can be obtained either by manufacturing them in factories or purchasing from companies.
You will need:
You will also need a vehicle for transporting the Drill Trailer. It is highly recommended to use a tow truck (T440 Tow Truck or Peterbilt 362 Tow Truck), although it is possible to tow it with a vehicle equipped with a hitch ball.
In this tutorial, we will use a tow truck.
Load your trailer onto your tow truck. For more information on towing, refer to the tutorial “Road Service”.
Place your Oil Extractor on your trailer.
Once your equipment is loaded, head to the “Miner's Shop” in Springfield and purchase an oil map. If you have the necessary resources, you can also drill for oil on Northern Island in the “Oil Zone”, an area where the available gallons are unlimited.
If you choose to purchase an oil map, once purchased, head to the area indicated on your map.
Upon arrival, you will need to find the drilling location. Exit your vehicle, go to the area, then open your interaction wheel and perform the “Survey” interaction.
In the survey menu, select “Oil”, then “Survey”.
Two results are possible:
Once oil is found, unload your drilling trailer and oil extractor at the oil site.
Go to your drilling trailer, and on its left side, perform the action “Extend/Retract Drill”.
Once the drill is extended, perform the action “Start/Stop Drill”. As you start drilling, the drill bit will gradually dig and create a hole in the ground.
After stopping the drilling, perform the action “Start/Stop Drill” again to retract the drill bit, then once it returns to its original position, perform the action “Extend/Retract Drill” to fold the drill.
Place your Oil Extractor as shown in the following image, ensuring that the tip of the extractor (red part) is in the drill hole.
Once positioned correctly, start the extraction by going to the right side of the extractor and using the “Start Extractor” interaction.
During extraction, barrels of oil will appear around the extractor, until the oil in the area is depleted.
Once extraction is complete, load your barrels, your drilling trailer, and your oil extractor onto your truck. Be sure to comply with the requirements of the Fishers Island Fire Code for transporting hazardous materials.
Extraction is complete. You have several options:
