Department of Justice
The Department of Justice (DOJ) comprises several departments ensuring the smooth daily operation of Fishers Island's judicial and legislative systems.
The DOJ is responsible for enforcing laws through its Attorney General, equivalent to a General Prosecutor, and its staff, as well as creating laws through the Chief Judge and their team.
Divided into two sections, the Department of Justice combines the Public Ministry (Prosecutor), Ministry of Justice (Judge), and government functions, including drafting laws and setting legal precedents (jurisprudence).
¶ 🧑⚖️ How to Join the DOJ?
Anyone wishing to join the DOJ must apply by sending an application via the email system to: human.resources@doj.gov
Applications must be unique. Copies will be rejected and will disqualify you from applying to any other faction on the server.

- You must be at least 16 years old
- You must have at least 14 days of playtime on the server

The judicial and legislative section (Fishers Island Court) is led by the Chief Judge, while the public ministry section (Office of the Attorney General) is headed by the Attorney General.
Thus, the DOJ is the only faction on Fishers Island led by two faction leaders.

The Files Manager, introduced in October 2024, allows you to consult procedures, create files/folders, and document various reports.

- Create folders (restricted to users with “MDT Admin” credentials)

- Lock files to prevent editing (restricted to “MDT Admin” users)
- Delete files/folders (restricted to “MDT Admin” users)
- Search for specific terms across all files/folders

¶ 🏪 Budget Distribution
One of the DOJ's responsibilities is allocating weekly budgets to factions (FIFR, FISD). They meet weekly to discuss treasury matters and establish a budget for the coming week. This budget comes directly from the Federal Reserve, which collects all taxes and fines paid by citizens.
¶ 👷♂️ Businesses
The DOJ also handles business creation requests. Applicants must submit a proposal for review. Depending on the number of existing businesses in the chosen sector, your determination, and initial capital, your request will likely be approved.

¶ 💥 Threat Levels
Different threat levels exist:
- Green: Indicates a normal, secure situation with minimal or no threat risk. Security activities proceed as usual.
- Amber: Signals an increased threat level, such as a higher risk of terrorist attacks, cyber threats, or other security issues. Security forces take heightened precautions, including increased patrols, tighter surveillance, and public awareness campaigns.
- Red: Denotes an imminent or ongoing major security threat, such as a terrorist attack. Maximum security measures are implemented, including strict border controls, heightened military alertness, restricted movement, and possible closure of sensitive locations.
- Martial Law: This exceptional state of emergency is declared when national security is gravely threatened, and civilian institutions can no longer maintain order. Under martial law, military forces assume public security control, often suspending certain civil liberties.
